Media Advisory – Supply Chain Risk Management Forum

Toronto, March 25, 2011 —The economic turmoil brought on by the recession, and the horrific natural disaster in Japan have highlighted the importance of managing supply chain risks. Mitigating potential threats will be the focus of the Supply Chain Risk Management Forum, hosted by The Conference Board of Canada. 

When: March 29, 2011 

Who: Glen Hodgson, Senior Vice-President and Chief Economist, The Conference Board of Canada, will discuss how economic conditions will affect supply chains, at 8:45 a.m. 

Philippe Richer, Deputy Director, Industry Canada, and Isa Qureshi, Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer, QLogitek, will  present findings from the Industry Canada report State of Retail: The Canadian Report 2010, and discuss key supply chain risk issues, at 2:30 p.m.

Panel Discussion: Understanding and Acting on Emerging Supply Chain Risks (and Opportunities), at 3:30 p.m.  Panelists will present findings from over 250 academic papers and industry reports on how to build a sustainable international supply chain.
