L'eBIZ Web EDI Solution Selected To Streamline LG Canada's EDI-Based Supply Chain Management Operations
April 15, 2001 (Toronto, Ontario) - QLogitek's L'eBIZ Web EDI solution has been selected by LG Canada for the conversion and streamlining of LG's entire EDI-based supply chain management operations with all of its major retail customers across Canada. Toronto-based QLogitek is a leading developer of business-to-business e-Commerce solutions and cutting edge systems integration services.
The conversion involves the integration of the L'eBIZ Internet-based portal with LG Canada's EDI operation to streamline all document interchange transactions with its retailers. The first retailer selected for conversion was the Hudson's Bay Company for all shipments of LG products destined or the Bay, Zellers, Club-Z and Home Outfitters stores.
"LG Canada identified several benefits from installing the L'eBIZ solution," said Ken Baik, QLogitek's project manager. "The most significant is cost savings derived from eliminating the need for the existing private VAN and Mapper components. Further savings will come from the elimination of ongoing maintenance, upgrading and replacement."
He added: "As well as streamlining the order processing system, L'eBIZ will also eliminate the inability to handle purchase order changes and the matching bills of lading with Advance Shipping Notice numbers, and bar coding anomalies."
L'eBIZ Lite will be linked with L'eBIZ's Virtual Private Network (VPN) into LG Canada's backend order system, and will replace the company's proprietary Value-added Network (VAN) and EDI Mapper used for document interchange with the Bay.
With the Bay conversion complete, all of LG's transactions with Wal-Mart Canada will be the next conversion, followed with conversions to web EDI planned for seven more major retailers including Sears Canada, Future Shop, Costco (Price Club), TransAmerica, Cantrax, VIP and Schenker, a third-party warehouse firm.
